Elisa entered the world of entrepreneurship in 2021 with her eyewear brand named after herself. And recent developments indicate a positive sign for the business growth of the 29-year-old. She recently held a trunk show for her brand and in her father’s words, the show was a huge success. Magic Johnson took to his official Instagram to post about the success of the show and to thank Elisa’s fans. “Cookie and I are so proud of our beautiful daughter Elisa for hosting a successful @elisajohnson.co trunk show today at @neimanmarcusbeverlyhills!” Johnson wrote in the caption. It is worth mentioning that a collaborative show with Neiman Marcus Group comes as a major step for Elisa’s startup as the group’s net worth is approximately $7.5 billion. Johnson also mentioned that Elisa nearly sold out of all styles and colors that were at the show. “Thank you Nieman Marcus for hosting the event and a special thank you to all of Elisa’s fans, family, and friends who showed up to support today!” further read the caption. But it seems this never factored ever in when it came to supporting her at any instance. And this is something even the 29-year-old had once stated in a 2016 interview with CR Fashion Book. “I was born and raised in Los Angeles… My parents adopted me when I was 3 days old, but I never felt out-of-place growing up…” she said. And the way Magic Johnson extended his support to her daughter’s eyewear brand testifies to this. The official website of the brand defines it as “a collection of timeless and one-of-a-kind eyewear designed by the brand’s namesake.” It further mentions how the idea behind it emerged years ago when multiple comments on one of Elisa’s posts asked where she got her “one-of-a-kind designer glasses”. Following this, she decided to create a line of eyewear. And after a few years, the brand was launched in May 2021. It is worth mentioning that before launching her brand, Elisa studied the fashion business at FIT. Apart from this, she did an internship for the founders of the sunglasses company—Coco & Breezy. As per a 2021 article by Nylon, Elisa Johnson’s brand was under three years of work before being launched. Speaking about her decision to come up with the line of eyewear, she told Nylon, “Eyewear is one of my favorite things in fashion. I think that I’ve always had a knack for finding unique pieces. I think that eyewear was just something that I always had a pull towards.” And with her newfound success at her recent show, it seems things are falling into place for what she had desired with her passion.
